Wesley Cottage Bed & Breakfast is located in the village of Mawnan Smith, approximately 4 miles south of Falmouth and within walking distance of the Helford River. The village is well-served by a 15th century inn (The Red Lion), various village stores, post office and Italian restaurant - all within immediate walking distance. Also of great interest to visitors is the recently restored working smithy which is located directly opposite Wesley Cottage.

The area is renowned as one of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and boasts many beautiful countryside, river and coastal walks. Several National Trust properties and privately owned gardens are also close by. These include Trebah Gardens, Glendurgan, Carwinion and Penjerrick.

The Helford River - upon which Daphne du Maurier based her famous book Frenchman’s Creek - is undoubtedly one of the most stunning parts of Britain, and popular with artists and writers alike.

Horse riding, fishing, golf and boat hire are also available in the vicinity, although some pursuits may be seasonal. The village is also conveniently located for visiting some of Cornwall’s premier attractions such as The Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount, and towns such as Truro and St. Ives.
